Almost 700 food and hospitality workers walked off the job Friday, as the Culinary Union and Virgin Hotels have failed to reach a new contract deal for food and hospitality workers since the last contract expired almost a year ago. It’s the last remaining Las Vegas hotel yet to reach an agreement with the union.

The largest labor union in Nevada has ended a planned 48-hour strike meant to pressure Virgin Hotels Las Vegas to agree to a five-year contract on wages and benefits.

The Culinary Workers Union began its strike against Virgin Hotels Las Vegas Friday and will continue through Sunday. Some 700 union workers went on strike after their contract expired almost a year ago.
